Spatial AI

Spatial AI is a class of artificial intelligence methods for spatial reasoning, i.e., logic of designing, occupying, operating, and traversing different conceptions of space.

Start here for an introduction to the idea.

Going beyond the three-dimensional, everyday, physio-temporal space, spatial AI attempts to generalize spatial reasoning (and thus the AI that could perform that reasoning) across many different notions of space, both physical and abstract.

I teach a course at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation (GSAPP) of the same name, found here.
